Sherwood Forest Emergency Management Program

Winter Ice Storm 2008 taught everyone several lessons:

Our communiy was caught off gaurd by a true emergency

Communication needed to be improved

Grass roots efferts helped termendendously

Our neighbors were our most helpful resource.

Lake View General Store is to be used as S.F.E.M. headquarters when the next emergency strikes.

Because Sherwood Forest is so large, they will need more volunteers to handle different districts. The volunteers will gather local information and feed the data to Sandy and Ron, who will then call in the reports to Becket Town Hall who are the primary communicators with the Town Emergency Administrator. They need your support.

People who might need extra help due to medical conditions or or other special situations may give their names and address to sandy and Ron. The Emergency Management team will try to give extra attention to checking these homes.

This is a grass roots effert to improve communtication using neighbors. Let's be prepared for the future. Volunteer now!
